It's 5:00 in New York City, and this is THE FIVE. This is a FOX News alert. Moments ago, President Obama delivered a statement from the White House Rose Garden heralding his administration's latest figures on the Affordable Care Act. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Last night, the first open enrollment period under this law came to an end. And despite several lost weeks out of the gate because of problems with the Web site, 7.1 million Americans have now signed up for private insurance plans through these marketplaces. (APPLAUSE) Nobody remembers well those who stand in the way of America's progress or our people. That's what the Affordable Care Act represents. We didn't make a hard sell. We didn't have billions of dollars of commercials like some critics did. But what we said was, "Look for yourself." (END VIDEO CLIP) PERINO: Despite claiming that they have met their enrollment target, the administration still has not said how many people have paid or how many were previously uninsured. Either way, Charles Krauthammer wonders if this was all worth the price.
