DALLAS, TX, United States, via eTeligis Inc., 05/13/2014 - - This is a broader effort in Ciao's US strategy to innovate and disrupt the telecom and wireless segment. Sara Choi SVP of Product: "By starting our retail footprint it allows us to gain better access to our customers and bring Ciao's brand and mission to the offline. Disruptive technology, exceptional user experience and innovation is what Ciao is about and that will reflect in the smart stores"
Ciao Telecom (OTCQB: SPCN) (OTCBB: SPCN) today announced its plans to open three "smart stores," among the nation's first, in Dallas and Denver. Ciao plans on using wireless technologies, 3D printers, NFC, and auto-detection software to create what they call "a uniquely Ciao experience" upon entering their stores to purchase mobile phones, wireless plans, IPTV, and more.
The move to open smart stores is a part of the company's initiative to innovate and disrupt the telecom and wireless business segment. The company also announced these stores will be available to franchise in late-2014, early 2015.
The "smart stores" will rely heavily on custom-built technology designed to personalize the store and create an immersive, intelligent experience. Even before entering the store, passers-by with Ciao phones (who opted in to receive notifications from Ciao) will see their name by everything from welcome messages to knock-knock jokes written on the giant floor-to-ceiling digital storefront displays. Upon entering the store, Ciao customers will receive a personalized welcome message from their dedicated customer service representative on their phone's lock screen. At any point in the store, Ciao customers can press the "Ciao to the Rescue" button on their device's lock screen to have a member of the team zoom to their side using geo-location targeting. Throughout customer's walks through the store, items relevant to the devices they own will light up eliminating any confusion around which cellphone case or charger to buy. For those who haven't purchased Ciao devices or services, 3D printers, floor-to-ceiling motion-activated multi-touch displays, and demos of the newest ground-breaking technologies.
