Dais Analytic Wins SBIR Grant

Dais Analytic Corporation (OTCBB: DLYT) (OTCQB: DYLT), an advanced materials company focused on commercializing its technology in the worldwide energy and water markets, has entered into an agreement with the US Army for a six month, Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant titled "Non-Fouling Water Reuse Technologies."

The grant funds Dais to tailor its NanoClear® water cleaning process to meet the needs of field deployed Army units. The NanoClear process has consistently shown Dais's novel Aqualyte® material has the ability to separate most contaminants from water, achieving nearly 'parts per billion' clean product water with little or no fouling of the important membrane component.

The US Army has requested Dais Analytic focus using its industry leading expertise in nanotechnology materials and water treatment to develop a solution to repurpose gray water, created by a number of daily military uses, into potable drinking water. Current solutions require multiple steps and have high maintenance needs not meeting the flexible requirements outlined by the military for use in most field deployed operational environments. The goal of this grant is to offer drinkable water in a single process which is energy efficient, has low maintenance, and is able to treat most all forms of contaminated water created by military field operations. Success by the Dais team with this initial project can potentially lead to further funding useful to move the technology to market.

The NanoClear process works by manipulating key attributes of the Company's patented Aqualyte materials to remove most waterborne contaminants. The results of the Company's pilot water site (named 'Dais-East'), located at a Pasco County wastewater treatment facility with support from Pasco County, played a key role in the award of this grant.

"The Dais team is honored to be selected by the US Army's technical organization for this award. It shows confidence in the work we have completed to date as well as support for the innovations outlined in the program. We want to couple the operational knowledge developed at our Dais-East pilot site with new developments funded by the US Army to optimize our materials and process to meet their needs in critical field applications. We believe this work will accelerate adoption of NanoClear technology with users who desire a low-maintenance method to repurpose wastewater into high quality product water," said Brian C. Johnson, Chief Technology Officer of Dais.

"This award again demonstrates the value of the Dais 'core' materials technology. When the program is complete is projected to offer progress towards commercializing water cleaning applications which reward the confidence of our shareholders and business partners have in us," said Tim Tangredi, President and CEO of Dais.

About Dais Analytic Corporation

Dais Analytic Corporation (OTCBB: DLYT) is commercializing its innovative Aqualyte™ family of nano-structured materials and processes focusing on evolutionary or disruptive air, energy and water applications. The uses include:

-          ConsERV™, a commercially available engineered energy recovery ventilator (an HVAC product) useful for efficient management of ventilation air's temperature and moisture content using the energy found in the outgoing 'stale' air stream to pre-condition the incoming fresh air often saving energy, CO2, and allowing for equipment downsizing;

-          NanoAir™, an early beta-stage water-based, no fluorocarbon producing refrigerant cooling cycle useful to replace the existing gas based compression cooling cycle in most all forms of air-conditioning and refrigeration saving a projected 50% in energy and CO2;

-          NanoClear™, an early beta-stage method for treating contaminated water (sea, waste, industrial) to provide 1,000 times cleaner potable water; and;

-          NanoCAP™, which holds promise to use the Aqualyte™ family to form a disruptive non-chemical energy-storage device (an ultra-capacitor) when completed for use in transportation, renewable energy, and 'smart grid' configurations.

Each use demonstrates the diversity of Dais' core product -- Aqualyte™ -- the family of nano-structured polymers and engineered processes having a focus on minimizing consumption of irreplaceable natural resources, and ending the degradation of our environment.
