Protext Mobility (OTCQB: TXTM), a developer of innovative and trusted applications for the mobile communications market, is pleased to provide several corporate developments in this update.
Protext has recently executed various letters of intent with several auto dealership groups to market and sell its distracted driving solution utilizing OBD-II technology. The Company's DriveAlert product, a text blocking and distracted driving solution aimed at curbing the distracted driving epidemic is being marketed to consumers at point of sale in multiple auto dealerships. Under the terms of the partnerships with Protext, the Dealerships will prominently display product information and collateral marketing throughout their showrooms for DriveAlert, which will be sold directly to consumers.
"We are thrilled that auto dealerships continue to see the value in our product, and I am proud to be announcing these latest letters of intent," said Steve Berman, CEO of Protext Mobility. "We take great pride in working diligently to ensure that there are mutual benefits and potential for growth with any strategic alliances formed by Protext, and therefore feel confident in the potential for great success in these dealerships."
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and Protext is passionate about putting an end to the distracted driving epidemic. The Company will be doing its part to not only help promote the campaign, but will be participating on several levels to bring awareness to the crusade against distracted driving. "Our technology was born from parents' dedication to keeping their now-driving children as safe as possible. As a developer of technologies to keep drivers safe, we cannot think of a better campaign to be a part of than National Distracted Driving Awareness Month," Mr. Berman went on to say.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were more than 3,300 deaths and more than 420,000 injuries in 2012 as a result of distracted driving accidents. With the explosion of social media, so have socially driven behaviors, such as taking and sharing "selfie" photos or videos while driving, an alarming trend among smartphone users. "In today's world connected by mobile 24/7, people have become accustomed to immediate access of social media and expect instantaneous information. That should not come at a cost to driving safely and/or putting others at risk, however. Studies are beginning to emerge regarding the dangers of driving while distracted, and the numbers are staggering. Drivers who are using cell phones are 4 times more likely to be involved in traffic accidents, and those who text while driving are up to 23 time more likely to cause injury to themselves or others on the road. Protext's mission is to cut these numbers as drastically as possible with solutions such as DriveAlert," said Mr. Berman.
