Votes Sought Nationwide to Pick Top Ten New Tech Startups

FOLSOM, CA, United States, via eTeligis Inc., 06/27/2014 - - Part American Idol, part Shark Tank, part The Voice and all fun -- Velocity Venture Capital's Entrepreneur Showcase is pitting some of the top startups in the Sacramento region against each other to win scholarships to their Accelerator Program. Watch the video release from info below.

Velocity's Accelerator Program, an 8 week boot camp designed to help startups develop and market their businesses, provides the opportunity for graduates to present in front of investors for funding.

Contestants are matched with champions and then asked to solicit votes, at the cost of one dollar each, with no limit on how many votes can be cast or for how many startups one votes. The votes are purchased using the Votdo™ Vote-by-Donation contest platform developed by The Bot7 Company, a Sacramento startup itself. Each contestant prepared a video elevator pitch to solicit votes. The link to the voting gallery with all the videos is here. (http://www.velocityvc.com/contest/voting/)

This year's group of prospects includes JamLoop, ReechOut, LocalStar, SaferLock, and Zoozil. A full list of contestants and their champions is available on line.

Voting is open now through August 15. On July 28, the startups will pitch their products at the Entrepreneurial Drive golf tournament at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills. The pitches are at each tee box and provide the opportunity to collect more votes. Information on how to participate in the Entrepreneurial Drive is available here. Proceeds from the contest go to support Velocity's Entrepreneurs Campus, a nonprofit located in Folsom dedicated to assisting and developing tech business in the Sacramento Valley. The Entrepreneurs Showcase is provided free of charge to all applicants. The Entrepreneurs Showcase is conducted at the Entrepreneurs Campus, a repurposed 1912 Elementary School building at 909 Mormon Street in Folsom, CA.
