Speaking about the conference, Laurent Dondey, Euromax President and CEO of Paris-based giant screen theatre La GĂ©ode commented, "We are hugely excited about our meeting this year. Each Euromax event attracts leading players from across the production, distribution and exhibition industry -- we are delighted to be welcoming them once again with never-seen-before productions in Europe, 4K Digital 3D projection and Laser-illuminated technologies."
In addition to the extensive line-up of films, clips, trailers, demonstrations and discussions, this year Euromax will offer delegates of ECSITE's annual conference (hosted in Den Haag during the same week), a taste of the giant screen and institutional documentary film industry. In partnership with the International Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA), Euromax will be hosting a special free giant screen breakfast event for ECSITE delegates on Friday, May 23rd.
The event is expected to attract over eighty delegates from institutional theatres, museums, film production companies and distributors across the globe. Alongside the 15-perf./70-mm film and 4K Digital 3D presentations, a special demonstration workshop featuring Laser-illuminated projection from NEC Display Solutions, installed by D3D Cinema, will also be unveiled.
With an existing IMAX 15-perf./70-mm projection system, the Omniversum giant screen dome theatre is also being furnished with a state-of-the-art 4K 3D Digital projection system for the Euromax film event to allow screenings in a wide range of formats. The 4K 3D Digital System will be supplied and installed by European technical services company 2AVI, featuring the newest CP4230 projection system from US manufacturer Christie Digital Systems.
"The Euromax and GSCA associations are key resources for educational films and cinema technologies. We represent the business of educational cinema experiences worldwide, and the bridging of our associations with ECSITE will facilitate new networking, learning and business exchange opportunities," explains Beth Nicholas, Euromax General Administrator.
"We are very excited about partnering with Euromax for ECSITE this year," says GSCA Executive Director Tammy Seldon. "GSCA has had much success in our partnership with ASTC (Association of Science Technology Centers) in the US, and expanding our relationships with European science centers will bring tremendous value to the giant screen and educational cinema network worldwide."
