Airbiquity's Choreo Connected Car Platform Honored as a 2014 Edison Award Finalist

Airbiquity, Inc., the global leader in connected car services, is a finalist for the 2014 Edison Awards™ now celebrating its 27th year of honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation. Airbiquity has been voted a finalist in the "Innovative Services - Security & Safety" category for its Choreo™ cloud-based connected car services delivery platform. Edison Award winners will be announced April 30, 2014 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

Being recognized with an Edison Award is one of the highest honors a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) whose inventions, new product development methods, and innovative achievements helped changed the world. The ballot of nominees for the Edison Awards was judged by a panel of more than 3,000 leading professionals from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education based on their rolls in the industry.

"As the pace of innovation in the connected car market quickens and becomes more competitive, we are thrilled that Airbiquity is being recognized for our innovation, excellence and leadership," said Scott Frank, Airbiquity Vice President of Marketing. "We are honored to be an Edison Award finalist, and look forward to attending the formal award ceremony in April."

Airbiquity's Choreo platform enables automotive OEMs to deploy, manage, and dynamically update innovative connected car programs globally for their customers. Choreo is available in 50+ countries and 30+ languages, and millions of vehicles connect to it every day generating more than 80 million monthly transactions. Airbiquity and their automotive customers believe it's imperative to ensure that the increasing availability of technology, infotainment, and services in the car doesn't interfere with driver safety. Technology and management controls within the Choreo platform ensure that speech recognition, text to voice, and application features are utilized and adapted when a vehicle is in motion. This allows drivers to enjoy personal applications, content, and services without taking their eyes off the road. Choreo also enables other driver safety and convenience features like remote vehicle monitoring, geo-fencing, and automatic crash notifications.

"It's exciting to see companies like Airbiquity continuing Thomas Edison's legacy of challenging conventional thinking," said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards' Executive Director. "Edison Awards recognizes Airbiquity's Choreo connected car platform as an innovative game changer, and the team that created and brought it to market."
