And with unemployment rates stubbornly refusing to return to pre-recession levels, the backlash against immigration is centering on the availability of employment, supposedly even low wage jobs traditionally held by first generation Americans. And that's where Vaughan de Kirby enters the story.

Created by Congress to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors, EB-5 was created in 1990, enacted in 1992 and has been regularly reauthorized since.
An EB-5 visa makes it possible to obtain a Green Card for an individual and his entire family by making an investment of $500,000 in an approved, new commercial enterprise. The investment must also result in the creation of jobs. de Kirby is proud of his firm's success, but even more so of his clients dogged determination to participate in the American experience.
