Government Websites Developed by Vision Internet Win Outstanding Achievement Awards in Interactive Media Competition

SANTA MONICA, CA – via eTeligis - Vision Internet, innovators in online government, today announced that government websites it developed for Purcell, Okla. (http://cityofpurcell.com/) and Atlanta, Ga. (http://www.atlantaga.gov/) have won Outstanding Achievement Awards in this year's Interactive Media Awards (IMA) competition.

IMA judges are distinguished professionals and members of the Interactive Media Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating the standards of excellence on the Internet. Judges score IMA entries on a 500-point system for design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance. A total of 137 entries were submitted from around the world in the Government category this year.

"The Outstanding Achievement award is an extremely challenging award to win," said IMA's Aaron Warner in a letter to Vision Internet. "Your entry has excelled in all areas of our judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism."

Dale Bunn, Purcell city manager, agrees. "From strategy to design to technology, the team at Vision Internet provided excellent, knowledgeable guidance every step of the way. They replaced our outdated look with a fresh design and inviting community photos. Our navigation has gone from disjointed to user-friendly with well-organized dropdown menus. And staff members find Vision's content management system easy to update," he said.

At the core of Vision Internet's advanced website functionality is visionCMS™, the company's innovative government content management system, which allows non-technical staff to add, edit and delete website content while providing the management tools necessary to maintain control, consistency and quality. It was integral to streamlining the City of Atlanta's website content information, and supporting the City's commitment to provide access to government services via the Internet.

"Interactivity and connectivity were major components of the City's web redesign," said City of Atlanta E-Communications Manager Tkeban Jahannes. "As the City of Atlanta grows, our technology grows as well; it's important that we have an electronic dialogue with our citizens, our state and the world. Anyone who has a question, a concern or a comment now can reach us. But we are not done. Working and evolving with Vision Internet keeps us on the cutting edge of technology with best in class communications."
