Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA, Inc. (SEDU), a leading provider of advanced RF, wireless and optical communications solutions, is introducing an X-band GaN IMFET device to its lineup of high power GaN products for X-band radar applications. The new internally matched GaN HEMT provides over 200 watt output power in pulse operation. Tuned for operation from 8.5 to 10.0 GHz, it offers broadband matching for 50 ohm systems.
"Our expertise in GaN technology offers new possibilities for radar applications. The new 200W GaN X-band IMFET supports our continued efforts to provide the trusted performance, efficiencies and features demanded by customers," says John Wyatt, President of SAN JOSE, CA, United States, via eTeligis Inc., 06/03/2014 - - Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA. "The new X-band GaN IMFET is an attractive replacement for vacuum electron devices."
Key Features/Benefits
- High-power GaN-HEMT reduces the number of power amps required in a system
- Internally matched for the 8.5-10.0 GHz radar band to provide high power and gain in a 50 ohm system
- High PAE - 40% typical at 200W output power for efficient operation and lower power
consumption
- High gain - 11dB typical at 200W output power
- 50 V high voltage operation
Samples for evaluation will be available from August 2014. Join us for a live demonstration of the X-band IMFET at IMS 2014: Sumitomo Electric Booth 333.
