Trailerpop Adds Tinder Director, YouTube Senior Designer to Advisory Board

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, United States, via eTeligis Inc., 06/09/2014 - - Trailerpop, creator of social-focused entertainment discovery apps for the web and mobile devices, announced today that the company has bolstered its board of advisors with the addition of two seasoned leaders in mobile and product design: Karim Varela, Director of Android at Tinder, and Jason Carlin, Senior Designer at YouTube. The two new members join the current advisory board, which includes people with experience at Apple, Microsoft, Publicis, Viggle and TV Guide.

Karim Varela brings nearly 10 years of mobile application development experience to his new advisory role at Trailerpop and is a proven web developer with deep knowledge of both the private and enterprise sectors. Responsible for leading all facets of the Android program at award-winning dating app Tinder, Karim leads and mentors his team and implements new features in the app. In addition to his leadership role at Tinder, Karim also leads a team at SocialTagg, a startup he co-founded that is redefining how people check into and network at events. Prior to his roles at Tinder and SocialTagg, Karim was the Lead Android Architect at Beachbody, where he developed the P90X Android app for phone and tablet.

A Senior Designer at YouTube for more than 3 years, Jason Carlin has been designing interactive experiences for the web since 1997. Since early 2008, he has led the design of textPlus, a leading text messaging app available for iPhone, iPod, iPad and Android. Most recently, Jason designed elements for Measure Map, a blog statistic product by Google and Adaptive Path. His specialties are product design and strategy, user experience design, information architecture, web standards consulting, graphic design and UI design.
